Determining the health conditions of populations and the use of health services in the reference municipalities, in the period 2015-2019
Subproject 38 has the general objective of analyzing the health conditions of the population and the use of health services in the municipalities affected by the collapse of the Córrego do Feijão mine dam, in the period from 2015 to 2019, using data from the Health Information System for the Primary Care (SISAB/e-SUS AB), of the Ministry of Health. The assistance in Primary Care refers to home and territorial visits, procedures, home and individual care in the Basic Health Units.
The specific objectives of the subproject are:

Describe the types and frequency of complaints reported by the reference population;

Describe the diagnoses established for the declared complaints;

Describe the adopted therapeutic approaches and outcomes in Primary Care;

Describe the use of the Primary Care service for declared complaints;

Analyze the evolution of morbidity and mortality of the reference population, in the period from 2015 to 2019;

Identify the likely impacts of the collapse of Dam I at the Córrego do Feijão mine, in Brumadinho, on the health of the affected population.
Methodological Steps
Step 1: Literature review;
Step 2: General monthly follow-up meetings, with all team members;
Step 3: Initial workshop for alignments between researchers;
Step 4: Selection of the technical team and students who will collaborate with the execution;
Step 5: Development of protocols for data extraction;
Stage 6: Team training and qualification, including completion of the Update Course for the implementation and use of the e-SUS 4.0 information system, offered via distance learning by “TessaúdeRS-UFRS”, with a workload of 60 hours;
Step 7: Definition of control municipalities;
Step 8: Extraction of data from the SISAB/e-SUS AB database;
Step 9: Double checking the consistency and adequacy of the extracted data;
Step 10: Preparation of the first partial report;
Step 11: Preparation of the original database (Product);
Step 12: Database treatment (Product);
Step 13: Data analysis;
Step 14: Preparation of the second partial report;
Step 15: Development of an interactive data platform;
Step 16: Preparation of the final report, including descriptions, qualifications and estimates of effects, conclusions and recommendations (Product).
