Methodological Steps

st Stage: Qualitative research, through the survey of secondary data, whose main contribution is the city halls directly or indirectly affected by the disaster, and the website Portal Minas Gerais, which maintains the inventory data of the municipalities.

nd Step: Structuring a geographic database based on data from attractions, collected from secondary data sources also in the field research.

rd Stage: Spatialization of the offer related to the tourist attractions of the municipalities, based on the data collected and arranged in the Geographical Database - BDG, which enables different spatial analyzes to be carried out, and the crossing of these data relating the most affected attractions regarding distance from the area directly affected, as well as pointing out possible links between municipalities and their tourist attractions.

th Step: Characterization of impacts on tourist attractions, through an online questionnaire directed to managers of tourist attractions in order to identify direct and indirect impacts, observing the change in the number of visitors; physical damage to the visiting infrastructure; environmental damage (invasion by mud); temporary closing of the attraction; decreased attractiveness, and the quality of the landscape for recreational tourism and outdoor activities.
