Collection of Ichthyofauna Samples from the Paraopeba River Basin for Pathological and Toxicological Analysis
The objective of subproject 04 is to capture specimens of ichthyofauna (that is, fish) from the Paraopeba River basin, more specifically between the downstream stretch of the Ferro-Carvão Stream and the stretch of the Retiro Baixo Plant. Then, there will be the collection and preservation of samples of target tissues, for future pathological and toxicological analyses.
Methodological steps
1st Step: Preparation of a sampling plan for the ichthyofauna in the study area;
2nd Step: Capture of ichthyofauna samples in four internal geographic points of the study area, as well as their taxonomic classification (genus or species identification) and biometrics;
3rd Step: Necropsy of animals and collection of organs for histopathological and toxicological analysis.
4th Stage: Storage, organization and delivery of samples to the Technical-Scientific Committee.
